    Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (Cnr) it is the largest public research organization in Italy. It was founded in 1923, in the past it has worked as a government consultant about research and as a funding fund for university research grants.

    Since 1989 the CNR is a research organization. CNR pursues the missions of: carrying out research projects, promoting national industrial system innovation and competitiveness, promoting national research system internationalization, contributing to implement technologies and solutions in accord with needs in the public and private sectors.

    All these objectives are achieved through over 8000 employees human resources, half of which is represented by researchers and technologists. About 4,000 young researchers are involved in post-doctoral research activities into the CNR laboratories. An important contribution comes from collaborations, including international ones, with universities and companies researchers.

    The CNR’s Press Office summarize scientific relevance and ‘journalistic’ news, it enhances the information acquired by Offices, Departments and Institutes. In addition to the press releases spreading, the Office creates the Almanacco della Scienza web magazine, co-organizes press conferences and dissemination and scientific communication events, and collaborates in various publishing initiatives.

    The press review is built also thanking to external service. It monitors several thousands of newspapers, printed media, radio-TV, web and agencies, with a nearly complete CNR’s citations coverage.
